The River is part of our Family too...

Our passion is to see you have the best time you possibly can during your experience and adventures with us either Canoeing and Jet Boating the Whanganui River or Bicycling the Timber Trail.

Ron, Karen and Family are excited to share this amazing place with you again this season. Please remember our main aim is to keep you safe and for you to have a great experience from the moment you arrive until you depart after your journey.

Together with our staff (including our six children, 5 boys and 1 girl) we love and enjoy the river and have been known to escape down the Mighty Whanganui on many occasions ourselves, making memories of our River Adventures!! This means we know and understand the Awa (river) very well. A very special part of our Family is 'Little David' who came to live with us when he was 2 days old, he loves meeting our Tourists, and will shake your hand a hundred times, welcome you ask your name over and over, when he is well he will always be smiling and laughing and trying to help you with anything you may need even if you don't know you need it. This special happy little lad has overcome so much in his short years and without him our Family/Business would not be the same. We became a very proud Nana and Granddad in September 2014, Logan Hawkless, and Max Hawkless on 3 August 2019, it is very likely you will meet these gorgeous little men sometime during your visit. Come and meet us all and we hope you will feel a welcome part of our family.

We cater from groups of 2 people, through to groups of more than 25 people and have our Briefing Room which groups of 10 or more people can sleep in.

We offer an earlier pick up time than other operators, which means that there is normally no waiting time to leave the Boat ramps. We also have our own Boat Ramp in Taumarunui and no waiting time there. Living on site means there is someone here to help with your questions when you arrive to camp the day before your journey. You are welcome to charge your phones etc for your journey, and relax on the couches in the Briefing Room enjoying our extensive views while doing your Registrations.

Most of our clients have never canoed, rafted or camped before but thoroughly enjoy their canoeing or kayaking trip and find it well within their capabilities.

We have an extensive range of top quality equipment and canoes, for example WE ONLY USE Old Town Canoes, they come in from America, we do not use any other cheaper canoes.
