We are located 3 kilometres west of Taumarunui on 25 acres of beautiful farmland, overlooking the picturesque Whanganui River and Mt Hikurangi.
Taumarunui is in the center of the North Island, close to Tongariro National Park (Mt. Ruapehu, Mt. Ngauruhoe, and Mt. Tongariro) and Taupo. It is only 4 hours’ drive from Wellington on State Highway 4 and 3.5 hours’ drive from Auckland. Taupo, Rotorua, Hamilton, and Whanganui (or Wanganui) are nearest large centers, all within 2 hours.
Intercity Bus services Taumarunui daily, and we can arrange a free pickup service from the Taumarunui bus stop, local supermarket (New World), and local motels.
If you are traveling south (from Auckland, Hamilton, or Waitomo):
To reach us, drive into Taumarunui township along SH4, turn right onto Hikaia Street (opposite the Railway Station/Information Centre), continue across the road (which becomes Morero Terrace) from the stop sign, and across the bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right onto Hikumutu Road and continue for 3 kilometers. We are located at 292 Hikumutu Road on the right, with a large sign and a canoe above it (look out for the blue and yellow letterbox). Follow the driveway up to the top.
If you are traveling north (from Tongariro, Wellington, or South Island):
To reach us, drive into Taumarunui township along SH4, turn left onto Hikaia Street (opposite the Railway Station/Information Centre), continue across the road (which becomes Morero Terrace) from the stop sign, and across the bridge.
